Free tool · #️⃣ Hash & UUID generator
Hashes, checksums,and random IDs.
Verify an ISO checksum, make an API key, generate UUIDs for a database seed, or hash a string for a config — without pasting secrets into a random website: this one never sends anything.
Hashes use the Web Crypto API; MD5 and CRC32 are computed in JavaScript. Files are read locally — nothing is uploaded.
What it checks
Everything we would look at first on a client call.
Free, no sign-up, no email gate. If the report shows red, the fix is written next to it — and we are one click away if you would rather we did it.
- MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512, CRC32 for text and files
- Compare against an expected checksum (paste to verify)
- UUID v4, random hex / base64 tokens, PINs
- Copy buttons on everything
FAQ
Common questions
Which hash should I use?
SHA-256 for integrity and signatures. MD5/SHA-1 only to match a legacy checksum — they are broken for security.
Is this safe for passwords?
Hashing a password here is fine for curiosity, but never store plain SHA-256 of passwords — use bcrypt/argon2 in your app.
