Make the PDFeditable again.

Lost the Word file but still have the PDF? Get the text back as a .docx you can edit, with page breaks and paragraphs kept.

Private by design: the file is processed on your device with open-source JavaScript libraries. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored. Output is text-first: fonts, columns and images are not reproduced. For scanned PDFs (photos of pages) there is no text layer to extract — you need OCR.

What it does

Open-source, in your browser, no account.

Free, no sign-up, no email gate, no watermark. Your files are processed on your own device and never uploaded — open the browser network tab if you like.

  • Text extraction with paragraph detection
  • Optional page breaks mirroring the PDF
  • Word count and preview before download
FAQ

Common questions

The DOCX is empty or has gibberish.
The PDF is probably a scan (an image), or uses a font without proper text mapping. Try our PDF to JPG tool and OCR it with Google Drive (right-click → Open with Google Docs).
Will tables come through?
As text lines, not as Word tables. Layout-perfect conversion needs a desktop tool; this one is for getting the words back fast and privately.
